Further OFSTED success at Rough Hay takes Elliot to 93% good or better

We are delighted to announce that Rough Hay Primary in Walsall has been judged, “Good’ across the board up from “Requires improvement” at its last inspection. The report praises the leadership team of Executive Principal Paul Edgerton and Principal Gemma Down for their, “Strong and purposeful leadership… [which] has brought about rapid improvement in pupil outcomes.”

It is particularly pleasing that Teaching Assistants are also singled out in the report for the “contribution they make to pupils learning”. We are immensely proud of all the pupils and staff at Rough Hay and delighted that they have got the recognition they so richly deserve.

This judgement takes the number of Elliot Foundation academies that have been inspected since they joined to 14 and of these schools 13 or 93% have been judged as good or outstanding. The percentage that have been judged outstanding is 43% compared to a national average for primary schools of 19%.
