The Hyde School

The Hyde is a community primary school in the diverse area of West Hendon, London. We are a large, friendly and oversubscribed school with so much to offer. The Hyde received Outstanding Ofsted judgement in 2015. We are part of The Elliot Foundation Academy Trust and converted to an academy in September 2013.

“Outstanding .. brilliant … phenomenal … life- changing!” That’s how our pupils describe The Hyde.

They say: ‘The school encourages us to have high expectations. The excellent staff want all pupils to aim high and to challenge ourselves. Everybody helps each other if they are finding learning hard, or if they need help with friendships. We learn to take care of ourselves and how to listen to each other .’

‘We are encouraged to be adventurous. We have competitions, trips, clubs and Shine on Saturdays which give us fun education and different experiences. We have an exciting outdoor environment, and our own bouncy castle for the Big Bounce every Friday. We learn how to be responsible, and we even have two school pets, Duggy and Lola!’

‘We think our school is amazing!’

The Hyde School has high expectations of their children who achieve highly. We expect children to quickly develop outstanding attitudes to learning so they can apply the skills taught and become independent learners who have a thirst for knowledge and aspire to do as best they can.
